Hello! I am so thrilled to be teaching at Prince of Peace this year. Even before I arrived as a teacher, my family has been exceptionally blessed by our PoP family in the school and church.
A little bit about me... I was born and raised in Washington State (Spokane for my childhood years and the Seattle area for high school). I attended college at Martin Luther College in Minnesota and received a degree in Elementary Education. While I was there, I met a dapper young man (Justin Vilski) and we wound up getting married in 2006.
I taught for two years in an inner-city school in Milwaukee, WI, and I left teaching for eight years while I was an at-home mom to our three lovely children. Our oldest is Coen, second is Halina, and our youngest is Franklin. They are such blessings and I'm so thankful to be their mom.
In the 2017-2018 school year, I taught half-time Kindergarten at Fremont Elementary School in Taylorsville. During that year, I received the divine call to teach at Prince of Peace Lutheran School and I accepted.
I am a certified teacher in Minnesota and Utah, and I have done some continuing education online to maintain my license. My areas of professional interest lie in gender differences and supporting both in the classroom, kinesthetic learning, whole-brain activities, and creating life-long learners by igniting passion in the school setting.
God is the center of our school, and that will reflect in the way that our students are treated. This is a school unlike most others in the area; we are Christ-centered and we will live our faith thanks to God's love and mercy.
In my free time I enjoy playing the piano, gardening, hiking, traveling, and trying new things with Justin and our children.
