Classroom News and Notes
Week of May 10th
Reading: We will continue reading our last novel for the year, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. We will continue identifying symbols and read chapters 7-10 this week.
We have also started reading buddies with the Kindergarten class. Once a week the students pair up with their buddy to read together.
Spelling: We will be learning Unit 33. We will correct our workbook on Thursday. Thursday will be the final test.
Writing: We are working on a narrative writing piece. This week the students will craft a title for their narrative and create a book cover.
Algebra 1: We will complete lessons 103 - 104 this week. We will have a pretest on Wednesday and a test on Thursday.
PreAlgebra: We will complete lessons 99 - 100 this week. We will have a pretest on Wednesday and a test on Thursday.
Social Studies: We have studied the British Isles, Benelux, and Scandanavia. We will be testing on those regions of Europe and will be moving on to central and southern Europe this week.
Science: Our study of invertebrates will get more hands-on this week as we dissect many organisms including squids! Look for pictures of the fun!
