Mrs. Jill Peil

Preschool

Hello! My name is Jill (Schroeder) Peil.  I was born to James and Janet Schroeder in Parma, Ohio - a small suburb of Cleveland.  I am the youngest of five and have two brothers and two sisters. Our family enjoyed spending time together at sporting events, playing games, and doing chores around the house. We also looked forward to vacationing on an Island in Lake Erie and a lake house in Wisconsin every summer. My parents raised us in the Christian faith as Lutherans.

All of my siblings were given the opportunity to attend a Lutheran college preparatory school in Saginaw, Michigan. I loved to travel there to watch my siblings sporting events or drama productions. By the time it was my turn to attend there, I was ready and knew that campus like it was my home.

After graduating from that high school in 1997, I followed my mother’s career path and decided to be a teacher. I graduated from Martin Luther College, in Minnesota in May of 2002. That was a big summer for me. I married my high school sweetheart, Tyler, that July and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for my first teaching position. While my husband was still in his 6th year of study at our Pastor training seminary near Milwaukee, I taught third grade in Waukesha, WI.

After two more years of study, Tyler graduated from the Seminary and was assigned to teach doctrine classes at the same high school that we first met at in Michigan.  We had our first child, Cassandra, in Michigan in 2005. I was able to have my first exposure to teaching preschool as I filled in as director at a child care facility.

In 2007, Tyler was installed as pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stanton, Nebraska. It was a small town of just over 1,500 people. We had our twins, Chloe and Callie in 2008. I loved being a stay at home mom.  Stanton was a great place to raise my family.  I found a love for gardening and learned to can salsa and applesauce. I will forever cherish the people that God put in my life there and the memories we made.

In 2010, I put my teaching hat back on and led the preschool at St. John’s - Noah’s Ark.  I was blessed to be all my girl’s first teacher. I really, really loved teaching Preschool. In 2012, our youngest daughter, Kenzie was born. I taught preschool there for 7 years.

In August of 2017, we said goodbye to the Stanton community and Tyler became pastor at Prince of Peace in Taylorsville, Utah. I was able to help out in the preschool as an aide that year. In the fall of 2018, I became the preschool teacher.

My family is growing up and growing out. This fall, my oldest daughter Cassandra will be a junior and the twins, Callie and Chloe will be freshmen at Lutheran Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin.  It feels like yesterday when that was me heading off to high school.  Our youngest daughter Kenzie will be in fourth grade. God has blessed us in more ways than we could have ever imagine.
